How to Use the Underline Generator
Type or paste into the first box and the underlined version appears below it. Switch between Underline and Double Underline with the buttons, then hit copy.
How the Underline Works
Each character is followed by an invisible combining mark: U+035F for the single underline and U+0347 for the double. The mark draws under the character it follows, which is why the underline travels with the text when you paste it.
Where It Works
Instagram and TikTok bios, Discord messages, X posts, YouTube comments, and most chat apps keep the marks. Some platforms strip combining characters for safety, and a few fonts draw the line slightly off centre, so paste a sample before relying on it for anything important.
A Note on Accessibility
Screen readers read the underlying letters but may also announce the combining marks, and the text will not be searchable in the usual way. Use it for decoration rather than for anything a reader needs to act on.
